ASK REAL GUYS
Personal Hang-Ups
Dear ASK REAL GUYS: I had recently gotten out of an engagement, and my brother decided to set me up with a friend of his. Everyone was very excited for us to meet, so I had a girl’s night out and ran into the guy. My brother gave him my number a week prior to this and told him to call me, but he never did. When I ran into him he asked how I would have felt if he had called, and I played around by saying that it would have been creepy. Later that night when he was walking me to my car, he called my cell and said that since I have his number now I should use it in the future. I am old fashioned and told him that I would never make the first move, as I believe that it is the man’s job. He said that I should break my rule because it hasn’t helped me in the past. He texted me after I left, and I haven’t heard from him since. I’m really attracted to him, but I think that if he is interested he should be the one to call. It has been two days since we first met up; what should I do?
Avery: You guys are just playing games with each other and being silly. He obviously likes you. Notwithstanding the fact that he’s friends with your brother and that COULD be awkward, be bold! Call him up and ask him to meet you at a fun place for a drink. Once you both meet out in the real world and alone, the games will subside and you can see if you actually get along with each other. If “everyone can’t wait for you to meet,” it sounds like you both could be a good match for each other. Call him!
